VOLUME 58 ISSUE 27 JULY 7, 2021 P33 Hart and Robert were among a group of riders that crashed on the start and would be forced to come through the pack. Webb, Haaker and Hart battled for the lead early on the first lap, but Webb eventually opened a small gap over Hart, who in turn, opened a gap over Haaker. Webb finished the first lap just 2:52 ahead of Hart. LeBlond passed Haaker for third before the end of the first lap, and the two battled for the final podium spot for much of the second lap. On the second and final lap, Webb continued to open the gap on Hart, and Webb eventu- ally finished the race in a time of three hours, 27 minutes and 43 seconds. Hart finished four minutes and 43 seconds back. LeBlond was the only other rider to complete both loops in the five-hour time limit. He finished an hour and 15 minutes behind Webb. Haaker held on for fourth place. Curtis rounded out the top five on his Sherco. Logan Bolopue finished sixth on a Sherco. Ashburn was sev- enth on a Husqvarna. Robert recovered from a first-turn crash and radiator replacement to fin- ish eighth on his FMF KTM. Quinn Wentzel (Rieju) fin- ished ninth, and Will Riordan (RPM KTM) rounded out the top 10. "The promoters did a great job of trying to beat us down this year," said Webb. "This FMF KTM's Trystan Hart tried to challenge Webb for the win but shoulder and elbow injuries made for rough going and he had to settle for second.
