third overall win in four rounds.
As for Hampshire, he's still on a
250 and would certainly be in the
thick of the championship battle,
if not for having a breakdown
while leading the previous round.
"This place is one of the best
places in the world, with the fans
cheering on the side of the track
and the track being so fun to
ride," said Ferrandis who went 1-2
in the motos to extend his 450MX
class points lead. "I gave every-
thing that I had in both motos,
and getting back-to-back overall
wins is a dream come true. I cher-
ish this moment."
"It was a special weekend for
the boys, I'm stoked for this whole
team and all the guys that believe
in me," said Hampshire after
posting 2-2 finishes, as Honda's
Jett Lawrence and Star Racing
Yamaha's Justin Cooper earned
the moto wins but could not back
them up in their other motos.
"To have what happened at High
Point [the previous round] and
then sit on the bike every day for
two weeks, I was more than ready
to come out and just destroy the
competition. So, I brought that
same attitude into this weekend—
even though I was sick and under
the weather, we showed up and
kept fighting."
Hampshire's voice was gravely
all weekend, but he was strong
in both motos, overcoming two
spills the first time out to still
nearly beat Jett Lawrence, the se-
ries points leader. And when the

Adam Cianciarulo could not get along
with the RedBud track, and a crash in the
second moto that le him with a twisted
bike didn't help. "Today didn't go the way I
had hoped," he said. "I felt like everything
was clicking during prac ce, especially
a er se ng the fastest lap me during the
first session. But I s ll felt like I was ba ling
the track each lap, which led to me making
mistakes and ul mately going down. I gave
it everything I had out there today."

Brandon Hartran (Twisted Tea/H.E.P.
Motorsports Suzuki) enjoyed a career
best finish in the 450MX class. "In the first
moto I had a decent start, but then got
arm pump early and people passed me,"
said Hartran . "I finally broke the arm
pump and made some passes back and
ended up 11th, which felt awesome. In
the second moto, I had a pre y good start
again and had a great ba le. We didn't
expect a top 10 yet. I knew I could... I'm
really, really proud of myself."
