Twins FT after taking the previ- ous weekend off to focus on bike development and parts con- servation. What had looked like a slow machine at the start of the season set a blistering pace in Ohio, with Lewis threatening to disappear at the front. His bid to runaway was foiled by a late red flag that bunched the pack back up. On the surface, the stoppage seemed likely to provide Texter and Lowe, who had been tussling over second, a second chance at the win. Instead, that shot was taken by Varnes, who ran at the bottom of the top 10 in the race's early going. Varnes found a line thanks to four victories and six podiums in seven races. While little had changed in that regard, the cast of char- acters doing their best to chal- lenge Texter had shifted almost entirely this year. In fact, none of the class' 2020 race winners outside of Texter had so much as podiumed in 2021 coming into Lima. That changed in a big way on Saturday, with Moto Anatomy's Johnny Lewis, Mission Roof System's Ben Lowe, and RVR Rausch Fuel's Ryan Varnes all in serious contention. Lewis was particularly impres- sive aboard the Royal Enfield after slipping as low as seventh during the contest. Rush never did find a way up through the field, crossing the stripe down in 12th. As a result, Whale and Daniels are now equal atop the points standings at 126 apiece, with Whale in possession of the tiebreaker on account of his two wins. AFT PRODUCTION TWINS There's no question that 2019 AFT Production Twins Cham- pion and 2020 class runner-up Cory Texter has been the rider in charge in 2021, boasting a near two-race points advantage FLAT TRACK PROGRESSIVE AMERICAN FL AT TRACK ROUND 7 / JUNE 26, 2021 ALLEN COUNT Y FAIRGROUNDS / LIMA, OHIO P86 Max Whale fought hard but had to settle for second to Wiles.
