Assen, charging away for a clear
fifth win of the season

abio Quartararo put on a clinic at the historic TT
Circuit Assen in Holland, charging away from second
on the grid to head a Yamaha 1-2 from polesitter and
Monster Energy Yamaha teammate Maverick Vinales with
World Champion Joan Mir (Ecstar Suzuki) taking third.
Quartararo got off the grid from second, and made the
early running, but was hampered by the speed of Fran-
cesco Bagnaia's Ducati as the Italian doggedly stayed
within touching distance of the Frenchman.
However, Quartararo was so much quicker through
Assen's unique kinks on the run towards the final chicane.
There, Quartararo went for a move but was wide, and Ba-
gnaia got his GP21 stood up and blasted back past. This
happened again on lap six, before lap seven saw Quar-
tararo grab the lead through turns 12 and 13.
