FLAT TRACK PROGRESSIVE AMERICAN FL AT TRACK ROUNDS 5-6 / JUNE 18-19, 2021 REMINGTON PARK / OKL AHOMA CIT Y, OKL AHOMA P88 While he wasn't in conten- tion for either win, reigning AFT Singles champion Dallas Dan- iels continued his steady march toward a second title in Bauman- like fashion. The Estenson Rac- ing prodigy's 2-3 weekend was good enough to keep him atop the points race that he leads on the strength of a win, four podi- ums, and no finishes worse than fourth. AFT PRODUCTION TWINS The hotly contested Mission SuperTwins and AFT Singles championship fights are being balanced out by serious pummel- ing in the AFT Production Twins class. The 2019 class champion Cory Texter has ripped open an early 35-point advantage after logging two more wins aboard his G&G Racing/Yamaha Racing honors in last year's AFT Singles title fight. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Max Whale kept Wiles within striking distance as the laps ticked away and then made good on that proximity with a last- lap drafting maneuver down the back straight. Wiles attempted to counter with a superior drive the final time they exited Turn 4 but came up 0.054 seconds short at the stripe. The young Aussie said, "Henry passed me on lap two or lap three and I had his roost every lap from then on in. I was catch- ing him a lot in turns one and two, but he had me mastered in three and four all day. I knew if I could pass him, it had to be on the back stretch coming off one and two. I got it done. I made a little mistake in four but ended up holding Henry off." MYOWNRACE the bar was going to be set for that main event. I knew I had to get going and going fast. I got the best start of my en re weekend and came off turn two in fourth and thought, 'We've got a shot.' It took a few laps to get around Briar and Vanderkooi, and Mees had a pre y good gap on us. I spent a lot of energy ge ng through that pack and figh ng the roost. Mees was pu ng the hammer down and I just couldn't match it." 49 CHAD COSE DNS-3 AFT PRODUCTION TWINS Chad Cose's AFT Produc on Twins tle ambi ons took a massive hit when he was forced to sit out Friday's main event with a broken machine. He returned to ac on on Saturday on a borrowed bike from Latus Motors with help from Vance & Hines and promptly put it on the box. S ll, he had hoped for more. He said, "The main was a bit of a disappointment for me as we ran great all day. It's a tough one to swallow, but it's s ll early in the year and we have plenty of racing ahead." Henry Wiles nabbed his first Singles win of the year Friday night.
