concentrated because all the memories, every-
thing I have lived over the last year, came into my
mind. But we did it. We will do it again."
"It was a little bit cat-and-mouse today," Oliveira
said. "Marc was faster in some sectors, and I was
faster in the last part of the track. Visually though.
I felt like I was gaining nothing! It was an interest-
ing race, and we battled at a distance. I will take
a second any day at the Sachsenring to him. I'm
happy to continue this run of podiums. I hope we
can carry on this way. Thanks to the team, and
everyone at home for their support."
Third behind Marquez and Oliveira was champi-
onship leader Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy
Yamaha), the Frenchman getting the better of a
late-charging Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) in fourth
with Francesco Bagnaia (Lenovo Ducati) mugging
his teammate Jack Miller on the last lap to take
fifth after earlier being down as low as 15th.
"I'm happy with this podium," Quartararo said.
"Honestly, it's like gold. We've been struggling all
week. We were quite clear about this in our team.
MYOWNRACE
12 MAVERICK VINALES
19TH MOTOGP
"I don't really know what happened with
the bike at the beginning," Vinales said.
"I had a high-side going into the corner. I
looked to see if the re was flat or not, be-
cause I didn't understand what happened.
But then I did two or three good laps,
22-highs and 23-lows on my dashboard.
A er that I got stuck behind the Duca s,
and it was impossible to pass them. I
didn't know what more I could do, and
that was it, my race was over. I had a good
rhythm but couldn't do more than this."
87 REMY GARDNER
1ST MOTO2
"Honestly I didn't know if I had that pace
today; Raul was also fast," Gardner said.
"I had the doubt, but I went into the
race with an open mind when I passed
Raul, I went for it and did some quick and
smooth laps in the beginning. I then saw
he was out, and I had a gap of almost five
seconds. It was a really long race being
out there alone and trying not to make
mistakes. I managed the gap and I'm re-
ally happy. Another 25 points."
