Gagne's domination masked a se-
ries of battles going on behind him,
with Loris Baz (Warhorse HSBK
Racing Ducati New York), Cameron
Petersen (M4 Ecstar Suzuki) and
his teammate Bobby Fong engaged
in a gloves-off fistfight for the final
podium place in race one. It looked
as though Petersen would hold on
for a career-best second place, but
he didn't count on the powerhouse
Ducati Panigale V4 R SBK of Baz,
who steamed passed to take the
place by a mere 0.04-seconds with
Fong taking fourth.
Behind the warring four, Gagne's
teammate Josh Herrin got the better
of Scholtz for fifth, with Kyle Wyman
(Panera Bread Ducati) besting for-
mer MotoGP rider Hector Barbera's

chase. Luckily, I was able to do it. Midway
through the race I did a couple low 12s,
and he was s ll ge ng away from me.
Just super stoked to get two podiums this
weekend. Road America has got a special
place in my heart. Super cool to get my
first podium here and then to back it
up the next day is even that much more
special. We can't let Jake keep doing this
to us. He's making us look bad. Got to
find something."

"We made pre y huge changes with the
trac on control just to try to drive out
of the corners be er," Scholtz said a er
race two. "Yesterday, we could see that
the top speed wasn't bad, but it was that
third, fourth, fi h gear coming out of the
corners where you were losing big me.
So, we just tried to turn off the trac on
control, which made it really hard, but
it definitely drove be er. You could kind
of see the lap mes were be er for the
first couple of laps. It kind of worked out
perfectly that I got past Fong, Herrin, Kyle
Wyman and just kind of rode my own
race from there. Then with maybe four
laps to go something started happening.
There was liquid shoo ng back up at me.
The clutch lever was bouncing backwards
and forwards. Everything wasn't really
working well, but I managed to hold on."
