43 JACK MILLER
3RD MOTOGP
"Today, it was crucial to gain some
points on Quartararo," Miller said.
"In the race, I managed the rear re
well, while the front re was a li le
overheated all the me, but we s ll
managed to have some great ba les.
On the last lap, I was very close to
Quartararo, and I would have had
another chance to pass him, but I
saw him cut the chicane, and I knew
he would have had to take a penalty
because he had gained a lot of me
there. So, I tried to stay as close to him
as possible and not make any mistakes
to secure third place."

15TH MOTOGP
"Unfortunately during the weekend,
we weren't able to understand the
situa on of the res and the setup
well, so we arrived a bit unprepared
for the race," Savadori said. "If at the
beginning I managed to stay a ached
to the group, from the 17th lap the
decline was evident and at the end I
just aimed not to make mistakes. It's all
part of the experience, we will have to
be be er in the next races."
when the rules dictate he needed
to drop one place. He would cross
the line third, but his three-second
penalty dropped him to fourth, and
then it was then announced he
would receive another three-sec-
ond penalty for defying the FIM rule
that states: "The (safety) equipment
must be worn, correctly fastened,
at all times during on-track activ-
ity." Quartararo would eventually
be classified in sixth place, behind
fourth-placed Joan Mir (Suzuki) and
teammate Maverick Vinales.
For Oliveira, the win marked his
first of the season and first as an
official Red Bull KTM factory rider,
his previous two triumphs coming
last year while riding for the satellite
Tech3 KTM team.
"This is almost hard to put into
words," Oliveira said in parc ferme.
"I had one of the best races of my
career so far. Everything was so
hard; the tire management and
keeping my cool when Fabio was
putting pressure on me for so many
laps. I really kept cool when he
overtook me and took my chance
on the straight to get him back. It
was a perfect race."
Johann Zarco, once he finally
dispensed of Jack Miller, slowly
hunted Oliveira down but came up
an agonizing 0.175s short of his first
MotoGP win for another second
place. However, the result and
Quartararo's penalties means he
narrowed Quartararo's lead in the
standings to just 14 points.
Behind the top six, Francesco
Bagnaia (Lenovo Ducati) never re-
ally got going and finished 8.1 sec-
onds behind Oliveira. Brad Binder
