We did a ride review on the Harley-Davidson FLT Tour Glide Classic, which
was pictured on the cover of Cycle News 40 years ago... We covered
Steve Morehead's win at the Pabst Classic Half-Mile in Harrington,
Delaware... Yamaha dominated the 250/500cc National Motocross in St.
Petersburg, Florida. Bob Hannah won the 125cc class and Broc Glover
the 500s... Larry Roeseler and Bruce Ogilvie teamed up to win the Baja
Internacional, aka Baja 500... Graham Noyce won the 500cc MX GP in
Sweden... Mike Melton won the Redneck National Enduro in Louisiana

LOOKING BACK I
We pictured road racing from Loudon and motorcycle winner Malcolm
Smith, who partnered with J.N. Roberts, crossing the finish line at the Baja
500. However, Smith and Roberts were not the overall winners. The overall
winner was a motorcycle racer but driving a four-wheel vehicle, 23-year-
old Bobby Ferro... Mark Brelsford edged out Kel Carruthers for the win
at the 100-mile road race National at Loudon... John DeSoto headed to
Texas and dominated the motocross racing at San Antonio's Motosports
Park. Jack O'Leary, however, put up a good fight.
