started to build a gap, Martin
tried to go with him, displacing
Cooper in second. But try as he
might, he could not track down
the Honda of Lawrence, and
he crossed the finish line with
his second straight win here at
Fox Raceway, which was the
site of last year's series finale in
October, where the Australian
notched his first AMA win.
"The first moto I didn't give my-
self much hope of a podium," said
Lawrence. "I kind of saw Jeremy
up there and just kind of kept my
Yamahas of Cooper and Mar-
tin surge to the front down the
long start stretch, with Vohland a
surprising third despite starting
on the far outside after his earlier
DNF. This time Jett Lawrence got
a much better start, completing his
first lap in fourth, just in front of Mo-
siman and his big brother Hunter.
Once Jett Lawrence dis-
patched of the impressive
newcomer Vohland, he managed
to make passes on both Martin
and Cooper on the seventh of 15
laps. As Lawrence immediately
they would finish less than three
seconds apart.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's
Hampshire, another rider who
missed almost all of the Super-
cross season, was third, followed
by Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull
GasGas rider Michael Mosiman
and Justin Cooper. Lawrence's
older brother Hunter was next,
followed by Monster Energy/Pro
Circuit Kawasaki's Austin Forker,
appearing in his first outdoor
national in nearly three years.
The second 250 moto saw the
