Scott Pearson was featured on the cover of Cycle News 40 years ago
to accompany our interview with GNC hopeful... We also featured an
interview with Jimmy Adamo... Kent Howerton won the 250cc National
Motocross at High Point Raceway, while Broc Glover came away with
the 500cc-class victory... We covered the Speedway Match Races in
England... Tony Bell, cartoonist and creator of MX Cat, crashed his
motorcycle and spent time in the hospital with multiple cracked ribs, so, no
MX Cat in this issue.

LOOKING BACK I
Off-road, motocross and road racing were represented on the cover
of Cycle News 50 years ago.... One of our featured race reports was
the 25th running of the Greenhorn Enduro, a two-day, 500-mile off-
road race, starting near Pasadena, California. Our report ran before the
results were tallied... J.N. Roberts was the top rider of the 203 finishers
at the Cherry Creek Hare & Hound in Utah... Rich Bledsoe topped the
2-Day Trials in Big Bear, California.
