ran the length of the property.
From there, the sections would
make sharp turns up one of the
steep dirt climbs and then turn
abruptly at the top and free-fall
back down, which is a far cry
from the giant rock steps usually
found on the series.
"I had quite a few fives on the
first lap, and most of them were
kind of stupid mistakes," said
Smage. "Either I would lose the
front end or I would rush something and not quite give it 100%,
which you really have to do on
this stuff to make sure you don't
spin. If you spin or get off line for
just an inch then you're done –
you're going to five the section.
A lot of the first lap for me was
either a clean or a five. On the
second lap, I kind of got it together and cleaned a lot more
sections, but then on the final lap
I kind of slacked off and took a lot
of points."
There were a few sections that
a lot of the Pro riders skipped altogether due to their difficulty, electing to have the checkers punch a
five without attempting. Section
