BYRNE PULLS CLEAR

efending British Superbike
Champion Shane Byrne
made great strides in defending
his title at this weekend's race at
Knockhill in Scotland, the Kawasaki rider winning pole position
and both races to stretch his
championship lead to 30 points.
It was an emotional victory for
Byrne as his wife was in surgery
the morning of the race.
"I went into the race a little
bit happier than I have been
for the past couple of days…"
Bryrne said. "She called me just
a few minutes before I headed
off out for the warm-up lap and
she said, 'I can't be there, but
do a good job and be safe,' so
that was a massive relief," Byrne
said. "It fired me up and I really
wanted to win it for her."

MOTO X BACK IN X GAMES
A
fter a two-year hiatus, Moto X racing will return to the event line-up
at this year's Summer X-Games in Los
Angeles, California. The event will feature three different classes: Men's,
Women's, and Adaptive.
Moto X will join the other Moto
events over the course of the four-day
event that will be held on August 1-4 at
the Staples Center. This year will mark
the 11th and final year that X Games will
be held at the Los Angeles venue.
Ricky Carmichael raced in the X Games
in 2007. The Moto X will make a return
to X Games after a two-year hiatus.
