2014 YAMAHA FZ-09

Midrange suspension
components provide
preload and rebound
damping adjustability.
>The FZ-09 uses Yamaha's
Crossplane Crankshaft Concept
3-Cylinder Engine technology, while
incorporating Yamaha's YCC-T rideby-wire throttle and D-Mode variable
throttle mapping. There's a six-speed
transmission in between those
compact engine cases, but the
FZ-09 is not fitted with a slipper
clutch, nor is it offered with
ABS braking. The flip side,
however, is lower cost and
less weight. At 414 pounds, it's
about 50 pounds lighter than the
previous FZ8 and $900 cheaper.

we can easily forgive
Yamaha for leaving off
ABS and a slipper clutch.
