IN THE WIND P42 Morse Captures Berkshire Hills East Hare Scrambles Win D ubbed the Berkshire Hills Round Up, the fourth round of the AMA East Hare Scrambles Championship Series hosted by NYOA took place in Berkshire, New York, May 16. The feature race saw a total of 23 AA racers, marking one of the most com- petitive fields in NYOA history. Husqvarna-mounted Dominick Morse helped himself to a com- manding win, leading Jason Tino and Ben Wright across the line. When the flag dropped it was Tino with the early lead. Morse gave chase, never losing sight of Tino's KTM, while Yamaha- mounted Ian Potter, Mike Delosa and Wright kept the top-five in a tight battle. By the midway point, Morse took control of the race, moving into the lead, where he proceeded to open up a gap over the field. Tino also managed to put a comfortable gap behind him, leaving the battle for third to rage between Potter, Delosa and current AMA East Hare Scrambles points leader Kyle McDonal, who moved in on the dogfight for third. McDonal attempted a third- place grab on the final lap, but couldn't quite make up the ground on Wright, leaving the Beta rider to settle for fourth on the day. In the end, Morse crossed the finish four minutes ahead of the field, followed by Tino, Wright and McDonal. Yamaha's Jaden Dahner made late-race passes to move up the field, and round out the top-five. The top A rider came from the A 200 line, with Yamaha-mount- ed Toby Cleveland claiming the top spot in 13th overall. The top B rider was B 250 rider Kyle Gre- newicz, while Schoolboy racer Robert Weiss headed the C field. The Youth main saw a three- way battle for the top spot, one of them notably from the second row, GasGas rider AJ Halford. The 12-13 racer took the overall lead on the first lap, but was stalked by 14-15 racer Cooper Davis (Kaw) and fellow 12-13 classman Keegan Kneedler. This battle would con- tinue for four laps with few posi- tion changes. On the final lap, Halford established a lead of over a minute for a dominant victory. The PeeWee 50 class saw a KTM sweep with Brenden Gray taking the top spot with Sheldon Houston in second and Aiden Howe rounding out the podium. Kenny Held Overall 1. Dominick Morse (Hus) 2.
