Tomac, Kawasaki Will End Relationship
After 2021 Season
A
fter six years, the Monster
Energy Kawasaki Team an-
nounced that the team and Eli
Tomac will not renew their rider
agreement following the conclu-
sion of the upcoming AMA Pro
Motocross Championship. The
team and Tomac mutually agreed
not to pursue a contract extension.
"We are extremely proud of
the success that Eli and the
Monster Energy Kawasaki team
achieved over the last six years,"
said Kawasaki Senior Manager,
Racing, Dan Fahie. "We have
built a great relationship with Eli
and his family and we are proud
that Kawasaki played a strong
role in Tomac's racing legacy."
During their tenure, Kawasaki
and Tomac have teamed up to
win four AMA Championships,
including the 2020 AMA Su-
percross Championship. In all,
Tomac lined up on the starting
gate 165 times and earned 60
wins while only missing one
scheduled main event. The 60
wins is the most by any rider dur-
ing that time frame.
The Monster Energy Kawa-
saki Team says it will feature a
two-rider program in 2022 that
includes Adam Cianciarulo and a
yet-to-be-named racer.
As far as Tomac's future, the
Coloradoan's name has been
linked to the Monster Energy
Star Racing Yamaha Team.
