Supercross season was, once
again, touted as the "deepest
field ever" and while that's been said
time and again, this year really did live
up to the hype. The Salt Lake City 2
finale stayed true to that theme as all
three championships went down to
the wire in the final race of the series.
Three champions, one night.
The 450SX title was all but clinched
before the show started on Saturday
night, as Cooper Webb (Red Bull KTM)
only needed a 19th-place finish to
secure the number-one plate. "Coop"
had only finished off the podium four
times all season, his worst finish being
a ninth at the opening round in Hous-
ton. The 2019 champion has been on a
tear lately and a finish worse than 19th
seemed highly unlikely.
