For starters (literally), Daniels
didn't have a moment to rest
after celebrating his earlier win
before being thrown right back
into the fray on an incredibly
physical track aboard a very dif-
ferent bike.
He also had to contend with
a field loaded with potential
race winners, including knee-
dragging Spanish flat track hero
Ferran Cardus, who flat-out beat
him in a semifinal shootout.
However, Daniels rose to the
occasion. Following another
early red flag, Daniels took the
holeshot in the restart and
maintained a blistering pace
that prevented Cardus from ever
sending a bonsai maneuver up
the hairpin.
Instead, Cardus made a mis-
take attempting to keep pace,
which allowed Daniels' Estenson
Racing teammate, Mikey Rush,
to close down on the Spaniard.
Rush ultimately worked his way
into second to complete the AFT
Singles 1-2 in addition to the all-
class sweep.
Behind, Red Bull KTM
Factory Racing's Max Whale
finished fourth while TT legend
Henry Wiles muscled his way
into fifth on the final lap, leaving
highly rated rookie Kody Kopp
sixth and eagerly awaiting a
rematch.
