sure off of the number-two. "Second place is never fun," Webb said. "Getting points is key but you want to win when you're that close. We'll come around next Saturday and see what we can do!" Webb retains the series lead, 22 points over Roczen as we head into the season finale. Malcom Stewart (Monster En- ergy Star Racing Yamaha) put in a great ride to claim third place, his first career 450SX podium. All of the riders made mention of the tough whoop section, which has long-been a strong suit for Stewart. He stalked Webb for the entire race, making their way past Anderson and then Roczen later on. Stewart made huge gains in the whoop section every lap, closing in on whoever was in front of him. "This is so awesome to finally be up here," Stewart said. "It's a dream come true, and I'll never rider. After missing the entire 2020 season due to a knee injury and suffering a concussion ear- lier this year, he showed the Utah fans that he still has what it takes to run up front. Webb claimed second on the night, just a few marks shy of clinching the 450SX Champion- ship. After making his way around Jason Anderson, Webb worked his way up to teammate Musquin. There were quite a few times where it looked as though he would run it in and make the pass stick, but each time Musquin de- nied him. The two KTM's duked it out through the final stages of the race, but fans we're left to wonder what the race would've looked like had these two not been teammates. Did Webb take it easy on Musquin? We've defi- nitely seen him make some gutsy passes on the last lap before but perhaps seeing Roczen go down lifted some of the must-win pres- much be er for him in the main. "I felt really good in prac ce and in the heat, but unfortunately I ended up going down and tearing my radiator," Barcia said. "Thankfully the team got it re- paired quickly and got me ready for the LCQ. The main event was difficult to say the least. I got pushed out off the start, somehow cross-jumped into the bales and ended up going down and the bike hit me in the back. I charged up to 11th and was s ll moving for- ward, and then I ended up endo-ing and bending my bike up pre y good. It's definitely super disappoin ng on my end." MYOWNRACE 27 MALCOLM STEWART 3RD 450SX Malcolm Stewart enjoyed the first 450SX podium of his career. "It was a great day!" Stewart said. "I felt good and rode well all day and just let the race come to me. I didn't have the best start in the main event, but we made it work the first couple of laps. Then Coop [Cooper Webb], [Jason] Ander- son, and I had a pre y gnarly ba le. I was really strong in the whoops tonight, and even the corner a er the mechanics' area, and kept gaining ground. I'm just so stoked to finally get on the box. It's been hanging over my head for a long me, and we finally got it. We finally did it! It's a dream come true. It's one of those moments I'll never forget. Everybody says that a er your first one, it comes easy, so this is one of many."
