IN THE WIND P32 Suzuki GSX-S1000 First Look T he 2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000 sees its first upgrade since its release in 2015. Suzuki has gone hard on the styling changes, giving the GSX-S a new look with stacked LED lighting on the front and a re- shaped seat and larger gas tank. Beneath the bodywork sits the same GSX-R1000 K5-inspired motor that's always been pres- ent in the GSX-S, with Suzuki fitting a new Euro5-compliant exhaust, new camshafts, valve springs and fuel injection sys- tem, a new airbox and the model now receives the Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS, basically a slipper clutch) for smoother deceleration and better control when downshifting. The GSX-S also gets the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System electronics package that includes the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), Suzuki Traction Control, Ride by Wire Electronic Throttle, Bi-Directional Quick Shift, Suzuki Easy Start, and Low RPM Assist systems. The main chassis remains unchanged in the twin-spar alumi- num design with fully adjustable KYB suspension at both ends, Brembo radial monobloc brakes and Dunlop Roadsmart 2 tires. The price and availability of the 2022 GSX-S000 is still to be determined. CN Suzuki's GSX-S1000 received its first significant update since its arrival in 2015.
