finished fourth. In the main, I didn't get a good start and was ba ling mid-pack. I made my way up to the back of Dylan, but I just couldn't get around him. Then I made a few bonehead mistakes and finished eighth." 94 KEN ROCZEN 6TH 450SX Ken Roczen saw his championship hopes all but vanish a er falling while leading for the second race in a row. "What a bummer, once again," he said. "I got the holeshot in the main and gapped the field, but just found myself on the ground a er tucking the front before the whoops. I dropped back to sixth, and that's where we finished as well. There's not much that I can say about it, to be honest; it's unfortunate. I'm finding myself on the ground lately in general, which normally is not my style. I'm just trying to put my team and myself on the top step and it just hasn't been working out." MYOWNRACE Roczen's sixth-place finish was just enough to keep Webb from clinching the title, but he is now 22 points down from Webb. "Lost opportunity the last couple of rounds," Roczen said after the race. "But what do you want me to do? I tried my best out there. I gave it my all and unfortunately it didn't go as we planned in the end." There was no movement among the top 10 in the 450SX Championship standings. With one round left, Webb leads Roczen by 22 points with just 25 points left up for grabs at the final. Tomac is assured third in the championship, as is Barcia in fourth. The closest battle in the top 10 is the one for sixth be- tween Anderson and Stewart. 250SX EAST The 250SX East field was sig- nificantly lighter than normal with only 26 riders on the start sheet, but the race was as heavy as ever. The talk of the pits was all about the Colt Nichols/Christian Craig duel for 250SX supremacy. The two Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha riders have trad- ed wins all season and started the day with only eight points separating them. Craig posted the fastest quali- fying time of the 250 division, 0.4 seconds ahead of Nichols who qualified fourth. Unfortunately for Craig, he had a huge get off late in the second session and bailed off his bike through a tricky rhythm section. He barely tagged the setup jump, cross-rutted through the transition, and de- cided to hit the eject button mid- flight. The Yamaha rider landed feet first, down-siding hard on the triple he was aiming for. He limped off the track and was tak- en away in the mobile medic cart. Craig would line up for his heat race but pulled off just one lap later and called it a night. After much speculation, he posted a photo on his Instagram of an x-ray SUPERCROSS MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES ROUND 16 / APRIL 24, 2021 RICE-ECCLES STADIUM / SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH P64 Salt Lake City 1 Supercross 450SX Video Highlights
