at Donington Park for the JP Gold Cup races. Randy Mamola was the
winner, Roberts finished fifth... We had full coverage of the Shamrocks
Two-Day ISDE Qualifier from Red Mountain, California. Jack Johnson
took the win riding a 490 Maico... Bob Hannah and Mark Barnett
split wins at the Pontiac, Michigan, Supercross doubleheader... Marco
Lucchinelli rode his Suzuki RG500 to victory at the Imola 200 by out-
dueling Kenny Roberts on the factory Yamaha.

Cycle Park in Livermore, California, was featured on the cover of Cycle News
50 years ago... We tested the Bultaco El Montadero. We said it was a fun bike
to ride but "to get maximum performance, you need steel huevos."... Nearly
800 racers turned out for the Master Links M.C. Hare & Hound at Kramer
Corners in California. J.N. Roberts, of course, took the win.
