MISSING THE CUT
Dean Wilson was a surprise non-
qualifier. The Rockstar Energy
Husqvarna Team rider, however,
got off to a positive start after
carding fifth overall in the morning
qualifier. In his heat race, Wil-
son said he struggled with vision
after running out of tear-offs and
finished 11th. In the LCQ, Wilson
tangled with another rider, all but
ending his night early. "It's a big
disappointment," he said.
DOWN AND OUT
Max Anstie crashed out of the
main event on the first lap. He later
reported: "The main event didn't
go to plan but after being checked
out by the docs at the track, I'm
as alright as I can be [and] doing
all the recovery I can to be feel-
ing good for Tuesday." Anstie's
Twisted Tea/H.E.P. Motorsports
Suzuki teammate Brandon Har-
tranft did not suit up at Atlanta 1, as
he recovers from an injury.
WAITING FOR THE
OUTDOORS
A number of racers recently an-
nounced that they are going to
wait for the outdoor Nationals to
begin rather than attempt making a
return to Supercross while healing
up from injuries. Zach Osborne,
Adam Cianciarulo, Austin Forkner,
RJ Hampshire and Jordan Bailey
all said they will return to racing
when the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross
Championship kicks off May 29 in
Pala, California.
