although he admits to being frustrated at not being able to match
Mullins' speed, or duplicate his
winning form of two years ago.
Yet his second at the Loose
Moose was still impressive.
The Radiant Air Group Racingbacked Husaberg rider has been
on the podium at every round
this year but one which includes
three runner-up finishes.
"I really didn't feel like I was
having one of my better days,"
said Fahringer. "I was having bike
set-up issues at the beginning
of the day. We kind of got things
sorted out by the third test and
my times started coming around
compared to Charlie, although
P101
he was consistently taking 10 or
15 seconds from me in each test,
and I just couldn't catch him. I
was making too many little mistakes. I was over-riding the bike
a little to try to make up some
ground and I think that cost me
some time."
Bakken rounded out the podium on the strength of his win
in test four. However, the Obermeyer Yamaha/Raines Riding
Academy/Offroadviking.combacked rider might well have finished second had he not stalled
his bike in the final test.
"About a mile into that last test
I just stalled my bike and it took
forever to get it started again,"
Brad Bakken
came within an
engine-stall of
second place.
