PAIN IN THE FOOT
J
ust two days before the Sacramento round of the GEICO EnduroCross Championship, title contender Cody
Webb found himself at the doctor's office with a broken
foot. He still showed up at the Sleep Train Arena, but was
confined to a wheelchair.
The factory-backed Beta rider, who was considered
one of the favorites to challenge Taddy Blazusiak for the
2013 EnduroCross Championship, broke the foot when
he crashed while practicing near his home in Santa Cruz,
California. He was obviously disappointed at not being
able to race in front of his home crowd.
"I just landed a little funny from a jump and tried to save
it, but ended up going down and the bike smashed my foot
into the ground," Webb said. "I have an appointment on
Monday [June 10] to see about getting pins placed in it."
The injury comes at an exceptionally bad time for Webb.
Not only was he forced to sit out the Sacramento EnduroCross round, he'll also miss the X Games Enduro X in Germany and two rounds of the upcoming start of the AMA
Beta's Cody Webb picked a really
National Trials Championship.

MR. MARQUEZ… MEET MR. SPENCER
I
n 1985, Freddie Spencer became the youngest
winner of a 500cc Grand Prix. In April of 2013,
Marc Marquez beat that record when he won the
Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas in Texas. On
Saturday, the two met for the first time at the Alpinestars/Maxxess Megastore event in Bordeaux,
France.
"It's great," Spencer said. "Hopefully, Marc may
hold the record as long as I did - 31 years.
For Marc to come along now and to perform like he has is great. Great to see,
great for the sport."
Marquez was equally as impressed.
"I saw many videos and from what people explained to me, Freddie was always
more or less like me, always pushing, never was enough. When you see he competed in two World Championships on a
Sunday - now this I cannot imagine."
