MotoGP of Doha Highlights
Red Bull KTM Ajo's Pedro Acosta (37) won an astonishing race in
Moto3 that was more bar-room brawl than bike race. In only his second
professional start, Acosta started from pitlane after incurring a penalty
during FP2 for waiting for another rider for a tow. It didn't stop him as
he charged back through the field, taking the lead on the penultimate
lap and pulling clear of Darryn Binder (Petronas Sprinta Racing) by
0.039 seconds, with Niccolo Antonelli (Avintia Esponsorama Moto3)
completing the podium. In the championship, 16-year-old Acosta leads
the way with 45 points from Binder at 36 and Jaume Masia at 32.
