CUT SHORT
Things didn't go much better for fel-
low American Joe Roberts. Rob-
erts, of the Italtrans Racing Team,
crashed out of the Moto2 race on
lap 14 after qualifying eighth. Last
year, Robert set the all-time lap re-
cord. Robert is currently 10th in the
championship after two rounds.

Lowes notched up win
number two of 2021,
as the number 22 and
Remy Gardner (Red
Bull KTM Ajo) dueled
in the Doha desert.
Lowes became the first
British rider to win the
opening two races of
an intermediate class
campaign since Mike
Hailwood did so in
1966. Rookie sensation
Raul Fernandez (Red
Bull KTM Ajo) picked
up his maiden Moto2
podium with a brilliant
third. Americans Joe
Roberts (Italtrans
Racing) and Cameron
Beaubier (American
Racing Team) both
crashed out of the race.
In the championship,
Lowes leads with
a perfect 50 from
Gardner at 40 and
Fernandez third with 27.
