We celebrated April Fool's Day in grand style 50 years ago with "...eight
pages of unmitigated nonsense," which helps explain our cover and our
road test on, yes, an actual road... On the serious side, we showed you how
the desert scene in the move On Any Sunday was filmed. The footage was
taken at the Victors Hare & Hound in Lucerne Valley, where J.N. Roberts
won what turned out to be one the most famous desert races ever... Cal
Rayborn won the Questor Grand Prix at Ontario Speedway.
