GOING TO THE EXTREME
With growing interest in extreme off-road
racing, the AMA has increased their
involvement in developing the sport and
for 2021, that includes a newly named
Kenda AMA Extreme Championship.
The 10-round series will consist of five
West and six East rounds (the Texas
Revlimiter event is both an East and
West round). Both West and East cham-
pions will be crowned in the Pro, Pro
Women and five amateur classes. The
Tennessee Knockout will serve as the
AMA extreme off-road grand champion-
ship event and top finishers at the West
and East rounds will earn direct qualifi-
cations into the Tennessee Knockout.
ROBERT'S NEW
CHALLENGE
Taylor Robert, the two-time defending
WORCS Champion, former Enduro-
Cross main event winner and multi-time
top American and one-time overall win-
ner of the ISDE has decided to change
things up for 2021. The FMF KTM rider
has a history of racing all types of events
and has done extreme enduro events in
the past, but with the growth in popular-
ity, decided to make extreme races his
focus. He will be competing in all the
Kenda AMA Extreme Championship
events and Tennessee Knockout.
DOING IT HIS OWN WAY
Max Gerston, the longtime Beta USA
factory rider, has created his own team
for 2021 utilizing GasGas motorcycles.
The Arizona native is a former Enduro-
Cross Junior Champion, AMA West Hare
Scrambles Champion and is a regular
top finisher at several different types of
off-road events. He is hoping that be-
ing on a similar bike to many of the top
riders will help make him a consistent
podium contender.
