Red Bull Day In The Dirt
Down South Returns
T
he 2nd Annual Red Bull Day
In The Dirt Down South was
held at Dade City Motocross at
the Pasco County Fairground in
Dade City, Florida, March 12-14.
Last year, the race was shut
down Friday night due to Cov-
id-19. Red Bull was so impressed
with the facility, however, they
vowed to come back in 2021 to
finish what was started in 2020.
Unfortunately, this year's race
was limited to 30% capacity, but
that's better than nothing.
The three-day event started
with practice Friday morning
and led up to the first race of the
weekend later that afternoon.
The Reunion Race was for riders
who spent time at Cocoa Beach,
Chicken Farm, Sunshine Moto-
cross, Dade City Motocross or
Gatorback in days past. Michael
Picone got the start and held on
to win the 30-minute Reunion
race.
The just-for-fun Pink Flamingo
Dash for Glory Pit Bike race
ended the day.
Saturday started with the
Vintage Grand Prix won by Randy
Richardson who topped both the
Vintage GP Expert/Pro and 50+.
Next was the Blendzall
2-Stroke Still Smoking race,
which Ryan Sipes won aboard
his Troy Lee Designs GasGas
250.
The Nitro Grand Prix Team
Race AKA "The Old Switch-
eroo," where a team of two riders
exchange a wristband every lap,
was won by Team Dum & Dum-
mer's Trevor Stewart and Deegan
Vonlossberg.
The Bossa Nova Grand Prix
consists of three-man teams with
all three riders on the track at the
same time, scored together. The
team with the lowest combined

Stewart won the 40-minute race.
Josh Grant came in second and
RJ Wageman third.
Team Ride Florida won the
Bossa Nova Moto Industry class.
The last race Saturday was the
Pro/Am Grand Prix. Wageman
