AFT PRODUCTION
TWINS
For sheer last-lap unpredictabil-
ity and excitement, the opening
main event of the 2021 season
will be tough to top all season
long.
In less than a half mile, Cory
Texter passed Dan Bromley in
search of the AFT Production
Twins victory before Bromley
retaliated with a hard counter,
which forced both men run wide
and allowed long-time leader
Chad Cose to sneak up the
inside of both to snatch away the
win by 0.098 of a second.
The thrilling finish was only
made possible due to the fact
that 2019 class champ Texter
had started on row three. He
spent the better part of the race
working his G&G Racing Ya-
maha MT-07 up through the field
before at last joining the shoot-
out of H-D XG750R-mounted
Cose and ex-SuperTwins runner
Bromley.
Cose and Bromley weren't af-
forded the same early advantage
in Saturday's rematch. Instead,
Texter got the holeshot and put
it to bed early, winning by more
than two seconds.
"That was awesome," Texter
said. "I was so determined after
kind of giving it away yesterday."
Cose held onto the points
lead, however, backing his win
up with a second, while third-
placed Bromley climbed upon
the podium for the second time
in his AFT Production Twins
debut weekend.
Title hopefuls Dalton Gautheir
(4-5) and Ryan Varnes (6-4)
expect to factor more heavily as
the season progresses.
