"That was the longest race of my life," Hammaker said. "I just kept pushing and knew that my time would come. "I reeled Cameron in and was able to make the pass, but we went back and forth," Cooper said. "I tried for a pass on the last lap and ended up washing out the front in a turn." When asked about his crash, Smith said, "I was trying to pro- tect the inside line but the track was slippery tonight, and I just lost the front end out from under- neath me and then the way the bike flipped up it hit me in the chest and it took me a minute to regroup. I am bummed to say the least, but there is no quit in me, so we will rest and be ready to go again on Tuesday." Hammaker led the entire race, sealing the deal on his first vic- Cameron McAdoo (31) showed that last week's victory was no fluke. He was fast all night and out-dueled opening- round winner Justin Cooper for the last spot on the 250SX podium.
