I don't want to be just chilling behind people like I have been all year." 250SX West Another first-time winner stood atop the 250SX podium this week. Rookie Seth Ham- maker took top honors in just his third profes- sional Supercross start. After winning his heat race, the youngster lined up with the first gate pick, ready to make his mark in the main. It was a Team Green duo as Hammaker battled with his Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawa- saki teammate, Jordon Smith, for the open- ing few laps. Smith made a costly mistake in which he found himself in between rhythm lanes and struggling to get back on track. He lost the second-place spot to Hunter Law- rence but remounted in third. For the second week in a row a first-timer won the 250SX West main with both riders coming from the Monster Energy/ Pro Circuit/ Kawasaki squad. This time it was Seth Hammaker who came out on top.
