LCR Honda Shows Off Alex Marquez's
MotoGP Machine
A
lex Marquez made his first
public appearance in LCR
Honda colors ahead of the 2021
MotoGP season, last week at
the team's season launch in
Italy.
Marquez was one of the
late bloomers in a chaotic
first season of MotoGP in the
Repsol Honda squad, taking
two podiums in succession at
Le Mans and Aragon—Honda's
only two podiums of the season.
He would end the year 14th
overall but was replaced before
the season even began by Pol
Espargaro.
Moving to the LCR squad
in place of the retiring Cal
Crutchlow, Marquez is expected
to fight for victories and emerges
as one of Honda's best hopes
for championship success, with
brother Marc's long-awaited
return date from injury still not
clear.
"When I saw it for the first
time, which was today, it was
amazing," Marquez said of his
factory-spec LCR Honda. "I
know LCR has a lot of history
in the world championship, so
to wear these colors is always a
pleasure.
"As I said before, the look is
important, but results are more
important. So, always it's nice
to be in a good colors to try to
make good results."
Marquez will partner Takaaki
Nakagami in the LCR team, who
will once again run in Idemitsu
colors. For the full LCR Honda
