$175,000 Purse And Rolex Grand Prize
Confirmed for Daytona 200
T
he Daytona 200 has re-
cemented itself as the richest
race in American road racing.
American Sportbike Racing As-
sociation (ASRA), in conjunction
with the AMA, will offer a total
prize pool of $175,000 spread
across the top-40 finishers in
the 200, with $25,000 go-
ing to the winner, $20,000 for
second place, and $15,000 for
third, right down to $1300 for
40th place. The winner will also
receive a Rolex Cosmograph
Daytona wristwatch as part of
the prize, while the pole position
winner will receive a new Arai
Corsair X helmet.
There's added impetus for Ca-
nadian riders—the highest-placed
finisher from the north will get an
extra $1000 bonus as Kevin El-
liott, President of ASRA, said to
Roadracing World, "just because
I know what they are going to
have to go through [quarantine]
to get back into Canada after the
race."
Scheduled for March 13, the
Daytona 200 will see a number
of America's fastest racers com-
peting on Supersport 600 ma-
chines, including current number
one Kyle Wyman, Josh Herrin,
Josh Hayes, Tyler O'Hara and
Brandon Paasch, while Isle of
Man TT legend Michael Dunlop
will make his Daytona 200 debut
on a Kawasaki ZX-6R 636.
