The CTX features Honda's
latest-generation
Dual-Clutch
Transmission system, which
means the bike will take care
of all of the shifting for you. Or,
if you prefer, you can switch
modes and change gears yourself via paddle shifters on the left
handlebar. Either way, there is no
clutch work to worry about.
Honda, however, still offers a
standard, or base, version with a
manual six-speed transmission.
But ABS is not offered on the
manual-shift CTX, which sells for
$1000 less than the DCT/ABS
models (DCT and ABS is a package deal; you can't get one without the other.)
Honda recently gave us the
P85
opportunity to experience all
three versions (standard with
manual transmission, fairing and
non-fairing) in action and I must
admit that I came away quite impressed with the CTX, a lot more
than I thought I would.
