VOL. 50 ISSUE 22 JUNE 4, 2013 get it today." Whibley, on the Am/Pro Yamaha, was never too far back. "I was slowly picking away, but I wasn't gaining fast enough to make any kind of run at him at all," Whibley said. "Nick got away when the track was fresh and kind of tight. He kind of pinned it. I guess he's kind of used to that enduro kind of terrain. I was a little bit gun- shy. There were a few logs and stuff like that. Especially the first couple laps in the long grass, you couldn't really see what was there and I was being a little bit careful." After the trail had a chance to work in, Whibley pressed harder, but he could not collect the determined Husaberg rider. "I was pushing really hard try- P115 ing to catch him, but he was riding really well," Whibley said. "It was a good race. It was good chasing Nick." Bobbitt, making his fourth podium in four races, crashed in the middle of the race, but he soldiered on, passing FMF/KTM's Russell, who had a miserable race, sticking his bike in the mud twice.
