CANYON MX / PEORIA, ARIZONA
P80
Oliveira, the round-one winner, got off
to a decent start in fifth, and he worked
his way up to third by lap three. He battled
for the second-place spot early on and
made a mistake in the tire section that
cost him some time, but he was able to
recover and make the pass to overtake
second once again on lap seven. From
there, he settled into a good pace and
maintained that through the checkers to
finish second on the day.
Robert and Oliveira are now tied for the
championship lead.
Bell, on the Precision Concepts Ka-
wasaki, was running second ahead of
Oliveira when he started having issues
"It was a really intense holeshot with
Zach Bell," said Robert. "We were side
by side going down the hill and I really
wanted to go into the off-road in front.
Once there, I rode a really solid race and
didn't make any mistakes."
Robert said that was key to winning the
race. "I crept away from those guys by
making the least number of mistakes," he
said. "There were a lot of places out there
today to make some mistakes and I didn't
really make any. I was pretty excited at
how clean my race was."
He added, "It's been a few races since
I've won so it feels good to get a win
again."
