Harley-Davidson Pan America
1250 Makes U.S. Debut
H
arley-Davidson has taken the wraps
completely off the all-new Pan
America 1250 lineup of adventure-tour-
ing motorcycles. It looks like Milwau-
kee will be producing two models of
American-made adventure machines in
the Pan America 1250 and Pan America
1250 Special.
The new machines from H-D feature
a new V-Twin engine, the Revolution
Max 1250, boasting 150 liquid-cooled
horsepower as an integrated stressed
chassis component of the frame. The
new 60-degree, DOHC powerplant fea-
tures advanced technologies including
offset connecting rod journals, forged
aluminum pistons, four-valve cylinder
heads, hydraulic lash adjusters, vari-
able valve timing, dual spark plugs and
dual down-draft throttle bodies. The
engine features two balancers, and
a slipper clutch pushing a six-speed
