FERRANDIS:
"COULDN'T BREATHE"
Dylan Ferrandis (Monster Energy Star
Racing Yamaha) called it an early night
after crashing and having the wind
knocked out of him early in the 450SX
main event. "He was riding well and
was comfortable on the bike," said
Ferrandis' Team Manager Jeremy
Coker. "Unfortunately, he had a crash
and stood up and ultimately got center-
punched by another rider. Luckily, he's
okay and will recover for next week."
Ferrandis said, "I got hit by the rider
next to me in the stomach and couldn't
breathe for a moment. I was okay in
the end, but my race was over."
RAIN DELAY
Wet weather leading up to the race
forced the cancelation of Friday's press
day and Saturday morning's free prac-
tice. The qualifying schedule was also
revised, starting much later in the day.
HANGING OUT
Even though he wasn't able to race,
TLD/Red Bull/GasGas Team rider
Michael Mosiman showed up to sign
autographs in Orlando. Mosiman was
on the cusp of getting his first win
of the 250SX East season when he
crashed and broke his hand. He got
good news when surgery was ruled
out, but he'll have to wear a cast for at
least three weeks.
WILSON: "FISH OUT
OF WATER"
Dean Wilson (Rockstar Energy
Husqvarna) returned after sitting out the
last rounds with a broken toe. "My night
was very difficult, but it feels really good
to be back at the races," Wilson said.
"I think the hardest part for me was
not being on the bike for almost three
weeks, I felt like a fish out of water."
Briefly...
Webb led it from that point on but could never
let his guard down because Roczen was always
lurking close behind. But Webb withstood the
pressure despite making a few small bobbles
late in the race. He took the checkers less than a
second ahead of Roczen.
"I had a lot of good speed [at the] beginning of
the race and made a lot of quick passes," Webb
said. "I felt good in the whoops [but] made a few
mistakes at the end and Ken caught up.
"It was a great race tonight," Webb added. "We
were one and two for pretty much the whole thing,
tooth and nail. It was a tough race, the track really
broke down a lot, especially from the beginning
laps, and it's definitely a little different when you
(Left) Zach Osborne got off to a fast start, which netted
the Husqvarna rider his first podium of the season.
