Racing Yamaha) rode well at Indy but
found himself at the wrong place at the
wrong me at Indy 1 and 2, but things
came together at Indy 3 where he had his
best result of the season with a fourth.
He ran sixth for much of the race and was
there to pounce when Tomac and Barcia
went down. "It was typical Indy, where
you're going into corners, and you think
it's there and it's not," he said a er Indy
3. "Overall, I feel really good about how
the night turned around for me. Indy
has treated me well. I had a lot of great
rides, and I rode well all day today. We
just struggled a li le bit in the first two
[rounds]. In the main event, I told myself,
'Bro, you have got to get a top-five in
this thing no ma er what, because the
boss man isn't going to be happy. I might
be finding myself doing it on my own if I
don't put the results in.'"

zen picked up where he left off,
and that was out in front. But first
he had to get around fast starter
take home the number-one plate
after the last round is run in Salt
Lake City in May. Nichols leads
Craig by six points in the champi-
onship, no one else is close.
The 250SX East Champion-
ship has been decimated by
injuries. Many of the class' star
riders have been knocked out or
at least dinged by injuries, most
of these arising during their stay
in Indy. Those who have fallen by
the wayside include Austin Forker

went down on the first lap on Saturday
night. Craig inherited the lead and sprint-
ed away with the win at Indy 3, and this
