"It was one of my best races
that I've had in a long time," said
Roczen, "and I'm really happy that
I could fight back and not just give
it to them."
There was good racing for the
last spot on the podium but well
behind the lead duo. Cianciarulo,
Cooper Webb, Osborne, Dylan
Ferrandis, Joey Savatgy, Jason
Anderson, Aaron Plessinger and
Marvin Musquin were all engaged
in a war within the top 10, all eying
that podium spot or at least a top
five. Webb, last week's winner,
ended up getting the last spot on
the podium, followed by Ciancia-
rulo and Osborne, who rounded
out the top five.
250SX East
The 250SX East main event
provided all of its fireworks on the
last lap, up until then it was a fairly
uneventful race, as Colt Nichols
eased away from his teammate
Christian Craig after nailing the
holeshot. All of the real entertain-
ment was provided by the young
Aussie, Jett Lawrence.
SUPERCROSS
MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES, AN FIM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 4 / JANUARY 30, 2021
LUCAS OIL STADIUM / INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA
P54
Colt Nichols (64) led
from start to finish
in the main and is
the new (solo) class
points leader.
Adam [Cianciarulo] flinched, so I
moved, and the gate felt like it didn't
drop as quick as usual, which messed
me up, and my start was really bad.
I tried to push as hard as I could on
the first lap, but it went from bad
to worse—I had to jump off to the
side of the track when a rider cross-
jumped in front of me, and I crashed
again and lost more me. I put my
head down and passed one guy at a
me and I saw another opportunity
to pass later in the race, but I washed
the front-end and went down again.
I am super disappointed, I felt like I
could have fought and come back,
even with a bad start, to a top-five or
on the podium but we'll regroup."
