A
fter three rounds of the
2021 Monster Energy AMA
Supercross Series, it's still
anyone's guess as to who might
walk away with this year's number-
one plate. Often times, by now,
someone has taken the reigns and
established themselves as the one
to beat for the title, but not this
year. Not even close.
The first three rounds, all held
at NRG Stadium in Houston and
all within a week, have yielded
eight different faces on the
450SX podium out of a possible
nine. Only one rider, Ken Roc-
zen, has managed to make mul-
tiple podium appearances (two) in
the first three races. That is clear
proof just how competitive and
deep this year's field is. Need
more proof? Only 10 points cover
the top eight riders in the champi-
onship, and only one point sepa-
rates the top three riders. And the
three races so far have produced
three different winners, none of
whom, however, are leading the
championship.
