SUPERCROSS 2021 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES, AN FIM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 1 / JANUARY 16, 2021 NRG STADIUM / HOUSTON, TEXAS P54 WHERE'S MAX? The Twisted Tea/H.E.P. Motor- sports Suzuki Team came into the Houston race down one rider. Brit Max Anstie did not suit up after suffering a back injury while training a few days earlier. He is expected to return soon. The team's other two riders, Adam Enticknap and Brandon Hartranft, didn't fare much better, finishing 20th and 21st, respec- tively, in the main event. This was Hartranft's first 450SX race and was impressed by their speed. THE OTHER MAX Seventeen-year-old Max Voh- land made his Supercross debut in the 250SX East class and performed well all day and night. Vohland, the son of motocrosser Tallon Vohland, suffered a crash early in the main and worked his way up from 12th to ninth. "The first race went good," he said. "I made some mistakes but it's a learning experience and we'll make sure to come back on Tuesday to fix those little tweaks. The goal was top-10 and that's what I achieved tonight, so we're happy with that." HOUSTON 1 SUPERCROSS NOTES: Both Rockstar Energy Husqvarna 450SX riders, Jason Anderson (15th) and Dean Wilson (12th), said they suffered arm pump which affected their results in the main event. The team's lone 250SX rider RJ Hampshire said he "just didn't ride well" en route to a fifth, which included a fall along the way... Zach Osborne suffered a big crash during press Briefly... (Above) Adam Cianciarulo made a little bit of noise early in the race but was quickly silenced by Roczen and then Musquin.
