Winter Series MX at Perris Raceway... Michael Scott wrote a profile piece
on FIM 250cc World Champion John

rode his Yamaha to victory at the Paris-
Dakar Rally.

JANUARY 24, 2001
Our Middleweight Sportbike Shootout was featured in Cycle News
20 years ago. We took six bikes to the streets and to the track (Willow
Springs) and came up with a winner. The Suzukis GSX-R600 took
top honors... Ricky Carmichael out-dueled Jeremy McGrath to win
the San Diego Supercross. He said it was his first "legit" Supercross
victory. Justin Buckelew won the 125cc main.
