Briefly...
The weather couldn't have been
better for the U.S. round, which
was the first world championship
round held in the States in five
years. Dan Brown and crew at the
Trials Training Center did a fantastic job of accommodating the
large contingent of spectators and
also of hosting and coordinating
the championship event.
Pat Smage was the only American to ride the Red line, which is
the line designated for the top riders. The Sherco USA-backed rider
held his own during the first two
laps of Saturday's event, but succumbed to fatigue on the final lap
and dropped to 11th overall. On Saturday, Smage finished 12th and on
Sunday he moved up one position
to 11th.
Fresh off a third place finish at the
Barcelona X Games Enduro X,
Cody Webb traveled to Tennessee
where he won the Open division,
designated for American riders riding the Blue line.
