the previous two rounds. "But I've
been learning more and I'm more
focused on what I'm doing.
"This time I paid more attention
and the signs were bigger so I'd
take my time when I [read them]."
It paid off, as Ramirez owned
30 seconds over Caselli at the
end of the loop.
But Caselli went to work on the
30-mile second loop that sent
riders more in the hill country
with its twistier trails through the
juniper trees and cut the gap to
just seven seconds at the end of
that one aboard his Muscle Milk/
Renthal/Sidi 450 XC-F.
"These starts up here, I don't

good and we'll go into the 500
with some confidence."
For Burson, he enjoyed a
good start and managed to hold
onto third practically the entire
day on his TBT/Motul/6D Helmets 498 RR. "I had a little bit of
an issue on the third loop - I got
a little sick," he said. "Probably
if you look at the times, I rode
pretty bad for the third loop, but
I got third so I can't complain. I
beat Jake, who's in front of me in
points, so that's the goal for the
rest of the races."
"I was horribly, horribly, really
far back [off the start]," fourthplace Argubright said. The Maxima/Dunlop/Fly Racing KX450Fmounted rider continued, "I was
