IN THE WIND P20 Honda HRC Announces 250cc Factory MX Team W ith the closing of the Fac- tory Connection Geico Honda Race Team, which used to run Honda's 250cc race pro- gram, Honda announced that it will take its 250 SX/MX team in-house with two riders, Aus- tralian brothers Jett and Hunter Lawrence. The Lawrence brothers will pit alongside 450cc teammates Ken Roczen and Chase Sexton in 2021 in both AMA Supercross and Pro motocross. The Law- rences both rode for Factory Connection in 2020, with Jett winning the final AMA Pro Mo- tocross round and earning the Marty Smith Rookie of the Year Award. Honda says that Factory Con- nection will continue to work with Team Honda HRC in vari- ous capacities. "The 2021 season will be upon us soon, and our team is working hard to prepare," said Brandon Wilson, Manager of Ad- vertising and Motorcycle Sports at American Honda. "While we were sorry to see Factory Con- nection's race team shut down, we're pleased to continue a relationship with their company, and we're excited to have such a talented rider lineup for both classes. When you also fac- tor in our solid team structure, there's every reason to expect a positive performance from Team Honda HRC next year." CN Hunter Lawrence (pictured), along with his brother Jett, will make up Honda's in-house 250cc SX/MX team in 2021.
