Jeff Matiasevich made front-page news 30 years ago for winning the
Tokyo Supercross in front of 38,000 fans. Jeff Stanton, Guy Cooper,
Doug Dubach and Stefan Everts rounded out the top five... The
final round of the World Championship Superbike Series played out in
Mansfield, New Zealand. Terry
Rymer won the first race and Rob
Phillis the second race... We tested
Suzuki's 1991 GSXR750 and 1100, as
well as the Norton RCW588.

Twenty years ago, we featured our 2001 Moto Fashion buyers guide on the
cover... We reported the passing of Doug Domokos, who was perhaps
better known as The Wheelie King. The 44-year-old was killed while piloting an
ultralight aircraft in Murrieta, California... Mike LaRocco was crowned World
Supercross Champion after the second round of the two-race championship in
Italy was canceled... The millennium-special Tecate SCORE Baja 2000 saw the
four-man Honda team of Johnny Campbell, Tim Staab, Steve Hengeveld
and Craig Smith take the win... We tested the Husqvarna Nox supermotard.
