he Yamaha Tracer will get a facelift and
a name change for 2021. Now called
the Tracer 9 GT, the motorcycle gets a
new, larger 890cc inline three-cylinder mo-
tor via a 3mm larger stoke, giving increased
torque at low rpm as well as maintaining that
renowned three-cylinder midrange.
You also get hard side cases fitted as stan-
dard, an extra Yamaha D-Mode for variable
throttle response and grip warmers.
There's a new chassis with a longer swing-
arm, a new six axis IMU, KYB electronically
controlled suspension, up and down quick
shifter, cornering lights and Yamaha's Brake
Control system, which helps modulate front
and rear brake pressure in emergency stops,
either while up right of when leaned over.
The 2021 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT will arrive
at authorized Yamaha dealers beginning in
March and will be available in Liquid Metal
and Redline color schemes for $14,899. CN
